What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-Wrinkle Injections are used to smooth facial lines, creases and wrinkles. They are perhaps the most well-known of all aesthetics treatments and their popularity has never been greater. Yet, despite their reputation for being safe and effective, there are many misconceptions surrounding Anti-Wrinkle Injections, and most of these stem from their misuse and improper administration.
At Yew Tree Dental Care, we offer Anti-Wrinkle Injections to patients in search of a solution to tired, impression-ridden skin and have the knowledge and the expertise to perform such treatments in the safest way possible.
Our Anti-Wrinkle Injections work by disrupting the body’s natural nerve signalling processes. This allows for the temporary contraction of the facial muscles in order to limit the movements that cause lines and wrinkles to develop in certain regions of the face.
There are many problems that Anti-Wrinkles can contend with, and some of the most common of these are crow’s feet, smoker’s lines, nasolabial folds and glabellar lines.
What Happens During Treatment?
Once you have attended a pre-treatment consultation, you will be booked in for your Anti-Wrinkle Injection procedure. The treatment itself will be performed by one of our highly trained members of staff, who will work closely with you to ensure that all of your goals and requirements are taken into account.
In the treatment room, your Injection will be administered to the target area via the neuromuscular tissue. This may be uncomfortable, but this will depend on your individual tolerance for pain. Results may not be visible immediately, but should begin to appear after no more than 5 days. You will be provided with thorough aftercare advice in the wake of your treatment.
Am I Suitable For Treatment?
Anyone struggling to come to terms with the ageing process could be suitable for Anti-Wrinkle Injections. Your suitability will be determined during a pre-treatment consultation in which your needs, reasons for treatment, skin and medical history will be explored in depth.
We do not offer Anti-Wrinkle Injections to those under 18 and would not recommend them if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
You may experience swelling, bruising or discomfort at the point of injection, but this should subside within a few days. It is also not uncommon to develop a headache after treatment. If things don’t seem quite right, or you are worried about any particular symptoms, please get in touch with us or seek medical attention.
Due to the nature of the procedure, the administration of Anti-Wrinkle Injections may cause some discomfort. The severity of this will depend on your individual pain threshold.
The longevity of results will depend on many factors, from you as a person to your area of treatment. Generally, the effects of Anti-Wrinkle Injections can be seen for around 3-6 months.
